We would love to see as many feline friends as possible. Bringing your kitty into the hospital can be a stressful event; in order to minimize the stress, check out these tips:

  • Use a carrier! Help your feline friend by bringing them in a carrier to visit our friendly veterinarians. You may want to cover the carrier with a blanket during their journey from your home all the way into the exam room.
  • Incorporate the carrier into everyday activities! Leave it open in a room that they spend most of their time. Please let them investigate at their own pace.
  • Use a familiar blanket or soft bedding with their scent to ensure their comfortability.
  • For very nervous kitties who have had an exam within the past year, you may call ahead and request anxiety medications before your visit.
  • If you have multiple cats please use separate carriers!
  • If your furry friend isn’t friendly around dogs, you may call ahead to alert the staff you are close by or on site and we will room you immediately. No waiting in the lobby with those curious, slobbering dogs!
  • If your furry friend doesn’t mind the company of your dog at home, please don’t bring them together. It is a little difficult to do exams on cats with the distraction of their best friend in the room.
  • Feliway is a clinically proven pheromone solution to comfort cats at home and can help to decrease stress during the car ride to see us. We carry Feliway and actively have it plugged into our hospital for all of our feline friends.
  • Once you bring your kitty home, it may take a moment to decompress. During this time, leave them in their carrier as other pets at home may need to become familiar with the new smells.
