Safety Communication and Updates

Safety is always our highest priority at Boca Park Animal Hospital for our clients, patients, and employees. As many of you are aware of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving daily and many of us are concerned about the safety measures that are being taken. As we prepare and develop our responses to the ever-changing circumstances, we want to assure you that we are taking the necessary precautions.

While we continue to monitor the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) we are committed to providing ongoing patient care for your pets that convey safety and convenience. The CDC is recommending that extra caution is taken with individuals who may have a weaker immune system or be in the age group that is at a higher risk. Currently, the US CDC has no confirmed cases of house pets contracting the disease or showing symptoms. However, the CDC does recommend if you are experiencing any symptoms that you limit your contact with your pets as they may transmit (carry the virus) them to another human. You can read more about that on our blog here.

We encourage our team and our clients to follow the CDC recommendations outlined on their website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html. If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting signs, please take steps to safeguard others and remain at home. If you are unwell and your pet needs to be seen ask a family member to bring them in or utilize our telemedicine option.  As the CDC recommends, we have increased our already stringent daily cleaning of all surfaces, our hygiene protocols, and implemented policies regarding employees exhibiting signs of illness. Our hospital is implementing new temporary policies where we will be able to offer a safer option of care that will be a lower risk of exposure. We understand that the risk of being exposed is low, however, we wish to be accommodating as possible.

Veterinary medicine is considered an essential business and we will remain open and take care of your pets, we are here for them.  As we prepare and develop our responses to the ever-changing circumstances, we want to inform you of new policies and procedures. We are currently offering all of our full services. Both lobbies are currently open to all clients. Please be advised that the Governor has mandated the use of masks while in the building.

Our current operating hours have been changed to Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  During this time you may experience longer than normal wait times when calling the hospital due to curbside check-ins.

For our clients that are at a higher-risk, immunocompromised, feel ill, and to help improve and maintain safety and wellbeing, we will be offering the following services:

Telemedicine Consults for clients that have been established and patients that have been seen in the last year.

  • The client can call the clinic at 702-675-7000 to schedule a telemedicine consult. At the time of that phone call, the Client Care Coordinators will ask for pertinent information, a CC to keep on file for your consult, and give you the skype number to call at the time of your appointment as we will be utilizing Skype services.

  • Your CC on file will be charged 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.

  • The schedule telemedicine time is very important and will be blocked out for your one on one time with your veterinarian. It is very important that you are on time for your telemedicine appointment as we may need to reschedule if late.

Curb-side Services Please call 702-675-7000 at your time of arrival for us to assist.

  • Clients who do not wish to utilize telemedicine but would prefer to not be in the clinic for their pet’s exam can have the nurse come outside to the vehicle to get the patient and pertinent information. While you wait outside the doctor will perform the exam and then relay information to you. A team member will contact you outside for charges.

  • Boarding and grooming pick-up/drop-off by having a team member come to your car outside.

  • Prescriptions- We have an amazing online pharmacy where you can order directly to your house by clicking this link: https://bocaparkanimalhospital.myvetstoreonline.pharmacy We can bring the medicine out to your car. We are advising that you give us 24-48 hours to fill medicine so that you are not waiting in the lobby or car for it to be filled.

If your pet is having an emergency, please call ahead and inform us, upon arrival just come straight into the lobby. If there is not an emergency, we have several signs posted with instructions outside. We hope that these added measures will ease any concerns regarding veterinary services and protect everyone involved. Thank you for your patience during this time of transition, we want to resume offering the best services that we can.
